

It has bayonet bar/ lug, sling swivels, steel butt plate, block and blade fore sight and ladder rear sight. The breech is stamped ‘Steyr M.95’ and the frame ‘Steyr 1903 (contract)’ together with inspection marks and Bulgarian Lion Crest on indicating issue to Bulgarian troops. The bolt has hand etched matching number.

The stock, breech and barrel are stamped with matching numbers 6633. The blued metal work has even patina throughout. The wood furniture of this weapon is in good condition with just light bumps and bruises to be expected. When the Nazi's came to power many M1895 rifles and carbines were given to Bulgarian Units. These weapons designated M1903 in Bulgaria were used throughout WW1 and into the 1930’s.
